Performance Analysis of Refractory Bricks after Erosion Test

(1) Silicon mullite bricks 1680 and Silica Mullite Bricks 1550 are filled with silicon carbide and partially oxidized into silicon dioxide to fill pores, which can significantly reduce alkali erosion and have excellent alkali erosion resistance.

(2) The spalling-resistant high-alumina brick JA has high apparent porosity, and poor alkali corrosion resistance and the alkali corrosion depth reaches 10 mm. A large amount of potashite is generated in the erosion layer, which leads to the cracking of the brick body.

(3) Low-alumina mullite brick M55 has low apparent porosity, and the mullite homogeneous material and andalusite raw material structure used is dense. A certain amount of high-silicon amorphous phase in the matrix can absorb alkali to form a high-viscosity glass phase to further seal the pores. The alkali erosion depth is only 5 mm, and the amount of ka-nepheline produced by alkali erosion is relatively small, which is not enough to destroy the brick structure, and the alkali erosion resistance is relatively good.
